AP Exam Information

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are presented in cooperation with the Advanced Placement Program of the College Board across many subject areas.  AP exams are scored on a 1-5 scale. Many colleges and universities award recognition for scores of 3, 4 or 5. For some colleges, the recognition permits students to skip certain entry-level courses and enroll in more advanced level courses as a freshman. For others, college credits are awarded. Students may check for details on how AP test scores are managed for each college or university they are interested in by contacting their college or university of choice. It is the responsibility of the student to send AP scores to each school directly from the College Board. AP scores are made available to students in July each year through a student's College Board account.
